Hot Air Balloon Ride!

Michael surprised me on our first wedding anniversary with a hot air balloon ride! We were supposed to go on Sunday (our anniversary), but the wind was too high, so it got postponed until Wednesday which ended up being a beautiful day! Here is our adventure!

We started off excited AND scared...

The balloon is filled up and time to hop in!

My head was SO hot from the fire! I didn't realize how hot it would be and loud too.

When we flew over houses, people were taking our picture. Now we know what it's like to be pursued by the paparazzi lol


This is all of our feet in the basket. Five people total!


Michael helping hold down the balloon after we landed. We landed in someone's front yard!




We survived and it was really fun!!!


Now Michael has to top this for next year hehehehe

My son Mason who is 3 years old (almost 4), wanted to be Optimus Prime for Halloween. He has been watching Transformers Rescue Bots for a few years now, so I knew I wanted to make the Rescue Bots version. I have made his last two Halloween costumes and I was really excited to make this one! Project Organize: Home Office

Recently, I decided I would take on the task of organizing our home. I am getting there slowly, but surely. The first (almost) completed project on my organizing to do list is my home office. I say almost because I still need to polyurethane the desk and put the new knobs on it. Other than that, it's completed and I couldn't wait to take pictures of it and share it! :) It was also great lighting this morning with the sun coming in through the windows, so I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I should also mention, we are almost done with a complete mudroom makeover, so stay tuned for a Mudroom Tour post! :) First, I'll show you the old desk area (picture taken June 2010). We inherited this desk from Michael's sister Laura and I painted it white and spray painted the knobs yellow (to match the chair, duh!). It's so funny looking back at old pictures of how I used to decorate and seeing how I've evolved as I have learned more of what I like. Anyways,

Kitchen Reno redo 2.0

                              The ongoing saga of our cruddy old kitchen is finally over, for the most part.  We attempted the quick fix and failed and now with a little time, knowledge and cash we think we finally got it right. Our ceilings are lower than the average house so we couldn't buy stock cabinets.  We custom made everything and added some Rev-a-shelf accessories. So awesome!!  See the pictures below and be amazed... Original kitchen (aka the O.K.) We added the hardwood floor. O.K. counter As you can see it was quite an interesting set up. Here you can see the old floor (hideous!).  Our first renovation attempt was a cheap paint job on the cabinets and on the tile counter top. Yup..... we tried that.... We changed the island and painted the chairs. Here you can see our paint job. Looks good!! Nice pics of the O.K and staircase.
