Stripes are for babies

Image
Today I painted some blue stripes floor to ceiling in the nursery. This was inspired by this photo: Here is how it turned out: (sorry for the horrible photos, my camera isn't that great) I think it turned out good, but not great. The bottom stripe is crooked, but that's ok because the crib will hide it and the edges aren't as crisp as I'd like, but overall I am satisfied! I used a Disney paint from Home Depot called "Pooh's Favorite Things". I thought the name was adorable (it's the bottom one in the photo) Here's a closer look: I got a quart of it and I have over half left over for other projects which is nice and it only cost me $14! How To: To figure out how to paint stripes on the wall, I used THIS blog post from Young House Love as a reference. Then I set out making my measurements on the wall. First, I found the center of the wall and marked it, then I found where the crib would be (it's 54"

Back to the Beginning: Decisions, Decisions

Image
I would LOVE to get this nursery decorating show on the road! I only have 3 months until little dude is here and I'm still not sure what colors/ideas I want to do for his nursery. ARGH! This is how I was with my wedding all last year, I'd think I wanted one thing, but then I'd see an amazing wedding online and change my mind. SO, the exact same thing happened this morning, I saw THIS article on whattoexpect.com and I tell you, it had me at hello! I love love LOVE the colors in this room. I love the minimal decorations, but each one has a uniqueness to them. Anyways, I'm boring with my explanation, but this room is SO amazing, I love it. It's also posted on projectnursery.com and the author (Rebecca) says she will be posting the entire reveal soon and I can't wait! Oh the little things that make me happy... So here are all the photos I've gathered of the nursery so far: And here are the details I am DIEING over (I hear Rachel

Skip Hop Studio Diaper Tote Bag

Image
I'm SO excited about my new diaper bag! I won it on Ebay the other day. I got it for 50% off thankyouverymuch :) It is lightly used and is missing the changing pad, but I'm good with that! I did alot of research and found this bag to be a good match for me. Now all I have to do is wait for it to arrive in the mail. I can't wait! I never thought I'd be this excited about a diaper bag...I am also very very excited about some other things I have on my baby registry. Anyways, without further ado, here are the product pix and video:

Mason's Nursery Moodboard

Image
The first moodboard I whipped up I wasn't that in love with. I wasn't passionate about it. Well, I have found the passion! I love DwellStudio . I have it in my bedroom and also I made some pillow covers with DS fabric I bought at Joann's. When I read the article on The Look For Less: DwellStudio Owls Nursery , I was SOLD! And here is Mason's new nursery moodboard. In my mind I had a vision of greens and blues and I just haven't found the perfect bedding/pattern that was affordable. Well this article definitly made some awesome points that I don't need a "bedding set", I just need the crib sheet and then add a couple of other things in the same pattern and WA-LA! You've got yourself a designer nursery for less. Dresser : We plan to paint our hand-me-down dresser blue to match the blue in the DwellStudio pattern. Crib : Baby Mod Parklane 3-in-1 (Walmart) Art: Print the DS pattern on my personal printer and frame it in white frames. 3 in a row
