House Tour: Living Room

Image
I cleaned the living room today, so I figured it was a good time to take some photos! It's never this clean or without baby/dog toys, but this is what it would look like if we cleaned every day and didn't have a baby and two dogs...haha...enjoy! This is a new couch and ottoman and I covered the brown pillows that came with the couch with some IKEA pillow covers. We hung bamboo roman shades and sheer curtains on the windows (high and wide to make the windows appear larger). We painted the walls Ivory Lace, a creamy beige color and the carpet was put in new when we moved in a few years ago. This is the only place in the house we have carpet, it's so cozy and fun to play on! :) I sometimes change what's in my fillable glass lamp, like for Christmas time, I'll fill it with ornaments and for summertime, I fill it with white rocks I collected on the beach or, like in this photo, I put some shells I had laying around the house. The actual table is Michael...

Nursery Tour

Image
The nursery isn't completely done yet, but I figure I can just add to this post or create a new post when we finish. We still need to: Make the crib skirt. I have all the materials, I just need to get motivated and make it! Put up the Chirpie Tree decal on the wall, which we are waiting to be delivered. Other than those 2 things, we are done! Without further ado, here is Mason Charles Buckley's nursery: View from the hallway as you walk in. The far wall will be where we put the Chirpie Tree decal. I used Photoshop to put the decal into the photo. This is how it might look after the decal is there: (dimensions might be off)...  In the corner near the door there is the laundry basket and the sign-in picture we got from our baby shower! Here's a close up of the sign-in picture: Right wall: Changing table/dresser we inherited from Michael's sister Laura and painted it white. The Ikea wall organizer is holding diapers, ...

House Tour: Master Bedroom

Image
Finally I figured out how to take decent pictures with my camera and we also are getting closer to finishing our master bedroom, so hence this post. It's taken a long time to make progress in this room because it's pretty big and the walls go really high, so it's hard to figure out how to decorate it, and with a tight budget, things take time. Also what took time was that Michael put in all the awesome laminate flooring, we built our own king sized bed and  night stands , plus antiqued our old dressers, plus had Michael's old duct taped chair reupholstered, plus...well...I'll just go through all the details with photos...it's A LOT! Here is the view when you start to enter the room from the hallway: We built our king sized bed from scratch and stained it a rich red mahogany color. Look up and you'll see our ceiling fan (the only thing we didn't change after moving in): The LOVE banner is from our wedding. I love how it gives a whimsical...
