EASY DIY Optimus Prime Costume (Rescue Bots)

My son Mason who is 3 years old (almost 4), wanted to be Optimus Prime for Halloween. He has been watching Transformers Rescue Bots for a few years now, so I knew I wanted to make the Rescue Bots version. I have made his last two Halloween costumes and I was really excited to make this one! So I sat down to do some research on it and Googled "DIY Optimus Prime costume" and a bunch of images popped up that seemed really hard to do and also really hard to trick-or-treat in looking quite boxy and hard to move in, so I just used them as inspiration and came up with my own version aka t he EASY version! Supplies: 2 cereal boxes (I used large Cheerios boxes) 1 additional cereal box to be cut up 2 small boxes (I used Keurig k-cup boxes that I had laying around) Duct tape: red, blue, metallic silver (I found mine on Amazon) 2 empty paper towel rolls Cotton balls Black construction paper Gray paint (I mixed black and white togeth...

Halloween '14: Woody, Batman, Cheetah

Image
We had a blast last night trick or treating! I made Mason a Woody costume, it turned out really good!It was Mason's first time trick or treating door to door (last year we went to the mall) and the first time in the new neighborhood. Yia Yia and Papou  joined us for the fun! We went right at sunset with a few flashlights and took a short walk over to the quiet dead end Stagecoach Rd. where the houses are really nice and have really cool Halloween decorations. Mason loved saying "Frick or Freat" for candy and his favorite decorations were the skulls!

Fall/Halloween Decorations

Image
Happy Fall everyone! All the decorations are on our console table in the mudroom... Some tiny pumpkins on Mason jars... My favortie are these bloody candles I made by melting a red candle onto a white candle! I made the Keep Calm and Scary On pic after I saw one online! I thought it was cool. My haunted house I got from my old job. I made this banner with some black glitter, print out I found online and baker's twine.   Some antique keys inside of the glass dome and a white crow!   Me in the mirror! Almost done with the mudroom...windows need curtains still :( XOXO, Sara
