All About Christmas 2013

On Christmas Eve, we went to Grandma's house for dinner and presents and then we went to church.

We were all dressed to impress, so I broke out the nice camera for a picture in front of our tree. This will be the last Christmas at this house! Doesn't Mason and Michael look so much alike in this photo?

Christmas day started with Mason seeing everything that Santa brought him! Santa is his favorite this year! He calls him "ata" and when we ask him "What does Santa say?," he says "Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!" It's the cutest thing ever! We ask him to say that all the time lol. 
 
Santa brought Mason awesome gifts for his 2nd Christmas! A play kitchen with play food and accessories, a stocking full or knick knacks, a beginner band set and Mr. Potato Head!

Christmas day with Yia Yia and Papou! :)
We spent the morning opening presents at home and Grandma stopped by for a quick visit to see Mason. Then later in the day, we went to Yia Yia and Papou's house for a delicious turkey dinner and more presents.

It was a great Christmas! We feel so blessed to have such amazing family to share it with.

EASY DIY Optimus Prime Costume (Rescue Bots)

My son Mason who is 3 years old (almost 4), wanted to be Optimus Prime for Halloween. He has been watching Transformers Rescue Bots for a few years now, so I knew I wanted to make the Rescue Bots version. I have made his last two Halloween costumes and I was really excited to make this one! So I sat down to do some research on it and Googled "DIY Optimus Prime costume" and a bunch of images popped up that seemed really hard to do and also really hard to trick-or-treat in looking quite boxy and hard to move in, so I just used them as inspiration and came up with my own version aka t he EASY version! Project Organize: Home Office

Recently, I decided I would take on the task of organizing our home. I am getting there slowly, but surely. The first (almost) completed project on my organizing to do list is my home office. I say almost because I still need to polyurethane the desk and put the new knobs on it. Other than that, it's completed and I couldn't wait to take pictures of it and share it! :) It was also great lighting this morning with the sun coming in through the windows, so I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I should also mention, we are almost done with a complete mudroom makeover, so stay tuned for a Mudroom Tour post! :) First, I'll show you the old desk area (picture taken June 2010). We inherited this desk from Michael's sister Laura and I painted it white and spray painted the knobs yellow (to match the chair, duh!). Nursery Tour

The nursery isn't completely done yet, but I figure I can just add to this post or create a new post when we finish. We still need to: Make the crib skirt. I have all the materials, I just need to get motivated and make it! Put up the Chirpie Tree decal on the wall, which we are waiting to be delivered. Other than those 2 things, we are done! Without further ado, here is Mason Charles Buckley's nursery: View from the hallway as you walk in. The far wall will be where we put the Chirpie Tree decal. I used Photoshop to put the decal into the photo.
