Outside with the Bumbo

Today I thought I'd try to do a quick photo session outside with Mason. This proved to be quite the challenge! After lugging out a blanket and some toys, I set Mason down on the blanket only to have him start crying up a storm. So I switched to Plan B. I went and grabbed the Bumbo and sat him in it and gave him Sophie the giraffe and this seemed to work out fairly well.




He started crying because he couldn't get the toy in his mouth :)





So there we have it! Our first outdoors photo session! :) Many more to come in the future! :)

My son Mason who is 3 years old (almost 4), wanted to be Optimus Prime for Halloween. He has been watching Transformers Rescue Bots for a few years now, so I knew I wanted to make the Rescue Bots version. I have made his last two Halloween costumes and I was really excited to make this one! So I sat down to do some research on it and Googled "DIY Optimus Prime costume" and a bunch of images popped up that seemed really hard to do and also really hard to trick-or-treat in looking quite boxy and hard to move in, so I just used them as inspiration and came up with my own version aka t he EASY version! Project Organize: Home Office

Recently, I decided I would take on the task of organizing our home. I am getting there slowly, but surely. The first (almost) completed project on my organizing to do list is my home office. I say almost because I still need to polyurethane the desk and put the new knobs on it. Other than that, it's completed and I couldn't wait to take pictures of it and share it! :) It was also great lighting this morning with the sun coming in through the windows, so I grabbed my camera and started shooting. I should also mention, we are almost done with a complete mudroom makeover, so stay tuned for a Mudroom Tour post! :) First, I'll show you the old desk area (picture taken June 2010). We inherited this desk from Michael's sister Laura and I painted it white and spray painted the knobs yellow (to match the chair, duh!). It's so funny looking back at old pictures of how I used to decorate and seeing how I've evolved as I have learned more of what I like. Anyways,

Nursery Tour

The nursery isn't completely done yet, but I figure I can just add to this post or create a new post when we finish. We still need to: Make the crib skirt. I have all the materials, I just need to get motivated and make it! Put up the Chirpie Tree decal on the wall, which we are waiting to be delivered. Other than those 2 things, we are done! Without further ado, here is Mason Charles Buckley's nursery: View from the hallway as you walk in. The far wall will be where we put the Chirpie Tree decal. I used Photoshop to put the decal into the photo.
